Comments from the notification period have been considered in the development of this document. Furthermore, the public, Aboriginals and other interested parties were notified during a 30 day period commencing Novemconcerning a draft of this SCI. Public and Aboriginal consultation occurred prior to the regulation of this Conservation Reserve. Should significant facility development be considered or complex issues arise requiring additional studies, more defined management direction, or special protection measures, than a more detailed Resource Management Plan will be prepared with full public consultation. More detailed direction at this time is not anticipated. This SCI will provide guidance for the management of the conservation reserve and the basis for the ongoing monitoring of activities. This SCI has been created with input from program specialists within Kirkland Lake District. The specific direction for managing this Conservation Reserve is in the form of a basic SCI, which defines the area to which the plan applies, provides the purpose for which the Conservation Reserve has been proposed, and outlines the Ministry of Natural Resources’ management intent for the protected area.
